Northern Embrace
Into the lands where the cold winds sing,
The very tip of the world within the arctic ring;
Tromso welcomed us with its frosted arms,
Yet somehow it all felt cozy and warm;
The sun would barely peak out at us,
Yet somehow it all felt clear and bright;
We plowed through the snow carving tracks uncharted,
As we do in life our storyline beautifully crafted;
Met ghosts of the Tundra in grey and white,
Turn out to be the most playful with treats in sight;
Running around with their brothers and sisters,
their soft and fluffy coats felt like whispers;
We wouldn’t give up before we saw,
The most majestic of them all,
Had us roaming around the park and our minds enthralled;
Upon our encounter we marveled in silence,
In awe of the wolves’ primal grace;
But if I had to remember just one moment,
It would be of the celestial ballet the mystical gleam,
Both in your eyes and the across the skies,
Us holding hands laying in each other’s arms,
Watching the heavens gentle flame from our car;
Each step we took felt steeped in lore,
As if we had walked these paths before.
I knew in that moment, this was our place,
Not in the snow, nor forest nor fjords,
Rather in each other’s warm embrace;
